Random i realised something i rather not know. ARGH! anyway, i just ate with my fammy and granny. at some furnished hawker. initially just wanted stir fried horfan with veg and xiao long bao. But we ended up ordering xiaolongbao, big kangkong, stirfried horfan for 5, crab porridge for 5, some pork ribs, fish(that sucked)and noodle HAHA and it's not dinner you know, it's brunch betw breakfast and lunch! so obviously we didnt finish. However what brought me into blogging was that the crab was soooooo nice! it's sweet, juicy and the meat was nice! so i think it was kind of like a waste to cook it in porridge! lol the total bill with drinks was 88.20 i think. worth it right! ohwell, whatever. shall update later.. with pictures maybe bye 0 comments Sunday, August 30, 2009

I am not a Singaporean. well, not really.... I am born in Singapore and basically am a singaporean. But what i actually am blogging about is that singaporeans are labelled as 'kiasu', 'complains and being unsatisfied',the famous 'singlish' and their good ol' 'HDB flats'. Firstly, queues are something VERY common in singapore when it comes to FREE GIFTS. Undeniably, everybody LOVES free stuffs, but queuing for a few hours just to get a free stick of cotton candy....??
Sorry, definitely not me. I don't think i would want to waste even 30 minutes queuing for cotton candy. You know what they say, 'time is VERY precious'. I was watching a video about testing singaporeans and a tent was set up just with notices put up 'Free gift entitled to each person, please queue up' and in no time, a queue began to form! People from teens to old. When asked why were they queuing and what will they be getting, most answers were 'i dont know, it doesn't matter too, it's free!' It's almost ridiculous to me that people can wait so long to get something small and meaningless for free! During my brother's first day of National Service, my parents were there. They had free food for people who came, which consisted of some pie, fried rice and milo(i think). My parents didn't want their share as they have eaten beforehand but my mum was shocked to see people bringing back food! It was okay if there was containers or plastic bags for the food but NO! There wasn't! Just disposable plates and cups. My mum said that there were quite a few people going back to pile food up and bring them home holding the plates ... and cups. Forgive me if i have offended anyone of you but.. Honestly! Ofcourse there's let's not leave out the 'using tissue paper to reserve seats in a hawker centre'!
Secondly, the complains that singaporeans dish out! It's completely unbelieveable! I went to Europe last year and i was with a tour. There was this 'pairing with China' event or thing so you have to just pay $50 and you get a week to China. Apparently, many of us didn't want to go cause of... Well so, there was this particular family that didn't know of this and so was going back to Singapore on the day when we were flying to China. Mum of that family was soo unhappy not knowing about it (even tho. it was stated in the brochure) and complained to the ENTIRE tour, tourguides, called back and everyone she saw! I believe Jack Neo's movie has illustrated this trait of typical singaporeans clearly and need no extra elaboration. As for me, i do whine a little here and there(okay maybe quite alot) but i don't complain unless i need to! I find it unneccessary, troublesome and pointless! i still don't really get why singaporeans go through so much to complain about something small, little and .... everything!!! Thirdly, it's our 'famous' language Singlish! Which i am very embarrassed of, for my country. sigh Basically it's the mix of everything! Chinese, English, Hokkien, Malay, Cantonese... Indian! I know we are Cosmopolitan, we have almost everyone in the world in the small dot of the map. We are multi racial, we have chinese, malays, indians and eurasians!
But does that mean we can transform the beatiful languages into OUR own language? Go ask someone overseas if they understand the 'meaning' of : vomit blood, shake leg, itchy backside! actually, i didn't know the meaning of shake leg and itchy back side until just now when i watching the vid! (LOL) But when i watch Jack Neo movies and hear the Singaporean actors speak in the very Singapore way, i feel DISGUSTED. yes. so disgusted that i can Spit. WHY? WHY? WHY? We are bilingual, trilingual and all lingual! But must we change the language in a way we HAVE to add in our accents? For those with the very-singapore accent, Im very sorry to say but can you PLEASE throw it away? It is not only a disgrace to yourself but a disgrace to Singapore. We can't read properly with our dear ol' accents! EW! However, i am lucky that i am not so affected by the languages of my fellow locals. i don't use that MUCH of singlish like 'sia', 'leh' and so on. Though i do use some suck as 'lah', i cannot deny and also try to not use. Ask around i am sure that if you ask some of your friends to speak in PROPER english, they will be unable to. Especially fellow bengliangaos! Fourthly, it's the HDB flats. They are EVERYWHERE that it has become a trait in singapore!
It became a singaporean trait! How? to ask a hand in marriage when a guy asks : do you wanna buy a HDB with me? with that singapore accent? AH HELL NO! if it was me! i may love a guy how ever much but if IF IF he ever proposes to me this way.. HAHA GOODBYE BOYFRIEND! but.. disappointedly, IT IS actually very common in singapore to propose this way! Or why did the advertisement some time ago show a guy proposing to a girl when he asked her if they want to register for a flat together. EWW it was in a hawker center, no flowers, no ring and their dinner was a bowl of noodles... SHARED! so, it was as good as without dinner! well so it's like this. I can only say, i am not a typical singaporean. I like the fact that it's safe (in a way of its geographical location and politically) and small(travelling is made easy!)but not so much of the people.. and some others! If you lose a friend, does it mean you lost a friendship? Today was o level's oral and i was shot with a question. 'How do you think someone will lose their friends' & while i was bathing just now, something suddenly flashed past my mind. (The below is not my answer to this question) Managing a friendship is like opening a company, like managing a business, like maintaining a marraige. To allow your company and business to grow, you need to put in time, invest your money and use your effort. Or else, without a doubt, the company and business would go bankrupt. Your marriage will fail. Like wise, you will lose your friend. You can't expect your friends to stick with you forever when you're always not there. You don't expect them to always be there for you when you don't treat them as friends. This is when you don't cherish your friends and go on without them. There are definitely others reasons that could lead to a loss of friends too, example, misunderstanding and backstabbing. & time. time could let people grow and mature but at the same time, cause people to lose friends.. Everyone surely have lost a friend of too in their lifetime. You might feel sad or angry but losing a friend is inevitable. I, myself have lost a few friends these few years too. Like.. Chihyin and it's simply because of time, a few years after primary school, we lost contact and .. well yadayada Hazel..(time) Josephine(she being her and me, being me) . ... well, many others. Going back to the point, even though you lost your friend, does it mean you lost your friendship? To me i feel that friendship is the r/s between your friend and you. So it's like you remember about the times you spent together and all. So for example, i lost Josephine as a friend. But i still remember the times when she give all her vegetables to me(she's carnivorous) and how we do story-telling to kids together for CIP. So i think the friendship somehow, is still that. Love can turn into hatred in an instant and similarly, friends could turn into enemies for little reasons. Thus, back to the point, when you lose a friend, Do you actually lose the friendship? What Luck! Tomorrow is Social Studies exam and GUESS WHAT? my sec 3 book has gone MISSING!!! WOOHOO! I CANT BELIEVE IT! and im mass spraying watermelon frost powder (xiguashuang) into my throat and it soothes but get worse after that! ohhhh lorddddddd HOW AM I GOING TO ATTEND ORAL TOMORROW!!! oh xiguashuang is more ex than i thought! 2.5g for $4.50! so ex right i gave my lunch box to qian hui today cause i cant swallow anything, at 5, mmy mum specially cooked meesua for me. i should be starving cause i havent eaten for the day but i couldnt finish my meesua!! ITS NOT POSSIBLE! even though yesterday i had high fever, i still managed to eat 1bowl of rice, chicken, 4 prawns, brocolli and soup! it feels weird not eating ........... let us all pray together that my throat get betterrrrrr PS: i borrowed sec 3 ss book from neighbour! 1 comments sore throat tragedy i am as good as mute today. its weird for someone as talkative as me to shut up for so many hours since morning. i had high fever yesterday and x took care of me. So now, it's only slight fever. However, i'm having the worst sorethroat i've ever had! i can't talk because everytime i do, a sharp jut of pain would surface at my throat and it is unbearable! i force myself to drink lots of water even though it hurts like mad while drinking and i can't eat. It's two now and i haven't eaten a single piece of food. My tummy feels really empty. Good thing for the god amount of liquid that is preventing me from getting hungry. *phew But the crazy thing is that TOMORROW'S O LEVEL ORAL! how am i to survive?? i can't even speak so how am i supposed to read OUT LOUD? argh! i wish there's some injection that can cure it immediately.i don't mind if i can be well for the oral (just one day) and hurt like this for a week (so i'll be as good as mute for a week) oh, today's english paper. and yesterday was practical. i was quite proud of my practical even though i got the final answer wrong. but i still did it! heehee compo was okay. i finished really quick but compre was a bitch! i don't understand why qian hui & fiona can say its so easy when everyone else says its hard! ohwell! tomorrow's social studies so.. hey world, im back! hello peeps. recently, many things have been happening. like how i was busy with the shop worrying about this and that. constantly picking fights with dear boyf and.. well idk my baby boy and girl? ah anyway, i've invested money, time and sweat in that shop and im kinda upset with the results its showing. i know i know. like what dears around me saying ' its a new shop, it needs time' and stuffs comforting and at the same time, makes sense. But somehow inside i think,think,think that this wont do. i thought about it, lowered the prices, advertise a little more(but still not much) but.. its not working? i appreciate those friends who wants to buy from me (despite you not using those stuffs) thanks but you guys really dont need to. oh and cousin+your boyf, anna, shurui, bear, kenneth, yinlin and bb. thanks man. But then again, i won't give up! i didnt want to open this shop for money and all. more of fun and interest. i like spending time going down to hunt for clothes and all. i guess maybe this interest is taking a toll on my bank and hope. whoops! shouldn't have said 'no dad, no mum, this is what i want and i can afford it!' geez. but dont matter. hee! prelims coming up in...TWO DAYS????!!!! WOW unbelieveable. like how time... flies. i still remember sitting beside karyn. sigh, i know i've screwed this thing up. This year is really... The Squats I should be studying. I should be studying. I SHOULD BE STUDYING! damn it. oh hello world.:D thank you for coming back! A few days back, bb and i went to AMK hub to watch overheard. It was okay, not that bad. But that's not exactly the point. After stuffing popcorns and Pepsi in myself for 2 hours, i needed to pee. I went to the Ladies and there was 2 people queuing in front. A girl exited a cubicle and both in front did not enter. Thus, it became my turn immediately. It wasn't because it was dirty or smelly. It was because it was a squat bowl. i would understand that one old lady in front might have difficulty squatting down. But the other girl was about my age. i prefer squats to sitting bowls as i feel its much cleaner and hygienic. You never know the seat you sit on is clean! -someone could have stepped on it. -someone's pee could have been on it (just that it was wiped away with tissue) -pubic hair seen on the seat SOOO many times.... -people stepping on the seat as support to tie their shoelace. blahblah.. whereas every of the above scenario could happen in the squat cubicle and IT DOESN'T MATTER! Because you need to take off your pants and your SKIN would not touch anything disgusting!! yes no? right wrong? well, it's my opinion tho. im half minded about posting my own pictures cause i have ALOT to post. i don't think anyone would want to see the below filled with my faces right? ohwell, shall pick some out. plans coming ahead Hey everyone. i guess all of you have heard or watch the trailer of UP(3D) right? i've known about the show through posters, friends and TV Moblie. Other than knowing it's 3D, an old man with a house of balloon and some funny bird, i knew NOTHING about the show. However, 5 mins ago, i clicked on the advert about UP on my blog >>>> abv nuffnung polls, and watched the trailer, i knew I HAVE TO WATCH IT!
Personally, i don't really like watching cartoon or animated movies. But this was DIFFERENT! It's hilarious and has undoubtedly adorable characters including that wrinkled old man, stumpy fat scout and a TALKING DOG! Other than that, there's games in the site. But i think it's extremely hard to play..... i'm a game rookie anyway! ------------------------------------------------------------------- mm, Yesterday was National Day 'celebration' in school. I've added the inverted commas as it wasn't any CELEBRATION for the sec 4s. We ended early at 11am but we had normal lessons all the way. Whereas for the sec 1s to 3s, they had their concert and really celebrated national day in school. sigh... I can't believe Fiona and i walked from school back home! we believe we walked for at least 5 km! cause we walked from school to old airport road to eat. As we were very bloated, we decided to walk to parkway. But we walked to CityPlaza instead. We went around the mall then walked to some market which had ANOTHER mall ,which i can't remember what's the name, nearby. So since we were so near Eunos Mrt and it was more convenient to walk, we walked over and then decided to go to kaki bukit to look at some stuffs. which then i walked home and she bussed back. The journey we took to walk, shop, buy drinks, toilet and stuffs was more or less 3 hours! But we're now black as the sun was menacing. WE HAVE A PLAN! ah, chenghui finally sent me the pictures for our Airport Trip on 5th of July. sigh that girl... well anyway, PICTURES!
HAHAH i know i look damn weird in some of the pictures. But i AM weird so i guess that's okay. i want a nicer skin colour! Oh yesterday was Ahboy's 2nd year in my house. So he is Officially Two Years Old in our house!! HEHE No wonder he was so happy yesterday, he knows! Did you people notice that the moon these days is BIG and Orangey? It's like so close to us. Quite scary sometimes. ----------------------------------------------- Went home one day and saw Simba drying from his bath. He was soooooooo cute! But active too. i took forever to snap these pictures. He loves me especially when i have the smell of Ahboy

DAMN NICE!! Last friday bb brought me to eat at TCC. The food's nice and the Ambience is cosy and voted the top 10 romantic places to dine at. and it just shows that Singapore doesn't have much romantic places! It is somewhat romantic. but IMO, it shouldn't be top ten! NO! not in the WHOLE island... NO! I ate some salmon and he ate beef striploin!! AH B I WANT MORE OF YOURS! mine was nice but his was AWESOME i tell you! but it didn't come cheap tho.! Not for me compared to you rich asses! well, if you people want to go experience the 'Top 10 romantica ambience', it's at Marina at Kappel Bay
