Animal cruelty. Guilty. I'm going to break my promise i made in the last post. Yawen told me something extremely disturbing about china restaurants. i believe most of you have heard about animal cruelty to sharks, monkeys and fishes. Then what about ducks, donkeys and dogs? we were talking when she told me about china's 10 forbidden cooking methods. She told me these few & i couldn't listen any longer. as duck's feet are considered a delicasy in china, it has to be nice, crispy and so, its cooking method is very important. one duck has only 2 feet. It's very precious. So how do they do it? They throw live ducks on a metal plate then heat the plate slowly, letting the ducks run around the plate until the feet are cooked. donkeys. They are made to lay on the floor, tied down and unable to struggle. Then if someone wants to eat its meat, the tender will then pour boiling oil on the part that is wanted. Then when it's cooked, the part then it's chopped off. During the whole process, the donkey is alive and conscious. stray dogs are killed then sold to restaurants to be cooked and served. These dogs are killed painfully. They are thrown into bags and then beaten with sticks to death. i don't understand why do animals have to be killed in such painful ways. And how do people eat them. Hearing the donkeys 'scream' and knowing how the duck's feet are cooked. It's just not human! despite it being forbidden, does it really matter? China's so big. Many of its officials are corrupted. Behind the kitchen, you don't know how they cook these animals. it's disturbing that these activities are still going on. It's kinda like these animals are born to die in our hands. Isn't it? 1 comments |
